Lauren Faith Fotography was built on a passion for capturing the raw, real moments of life. As a mother and daughter team, there’s nothing we love more than revealing a child’s unique personality or framing the true emotion of an event through photos. Whether you’re looking for a personal shoot, in need of event photography, or you’re interested in custom designed photo montages, allow us to be a part of the memories that will last you a lifetime.
A native New Yorker I went to school in Boston and majored in Graphic Design with a minor in Photography. Spent part of a summer in Paris studying photography through The Parsons School for the Arts. Once graduating I returned to New York where I worked as a textile designer in the garment industry and then a head stylist for over 12 years. I continued with my photography on the weekends by assisting my mother with special events where I learned a deeper understanding of working with a range of cameras, including both film & digital photographs.
My attraction to photography gained greater focus after the birth of my first child in 1999, I realized how much I loved being around children and capturing the spontaneous moments in each child's unique personality. In 2004 I left the garment industry to pursue my photography on a more full time basis. I continue to work with my mom, no longer as an assistant but as a colleague. Our close relationship creates a great synergy and translates into the work we do for our clients. Though my passion started with photographing children and families I have expanded my business to include Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, intimate weddings, custom designed photo montages, and many other assorted special occasions.
I currently reside in NYC with my husband Larry and our two children, Zachary & Carli
I am an event and portraiture photographer and have been photographing for some 25 plus years. It all started when I needed to fulfill an art requirement, having already taken art history, I settled on black and white photography. After my first days in the darkroom I was hooked. I loved the whole process of capturing light with a camera in order to create an image.
After my college years I became involved raising a family and when the time was right I returned to photography. I continued my formal training at the International Center of Photography in New York City. I then went on to become a member of “Ground Glass” a fine-art photography organization. My experience as a freelance photographer for a newspaper for the past 20 years has taught me how to be quick on my feet, to be unobtrusive and how to adapt to all shooting situations. It gave me the mixture of a photojournalistic, and documentary style. A style in which I work today.
I love capturing moments in peoples lives that are of great importance and that brings back treasured moments. But more than the love I have for the art of photography is the love I have in working with my daughter. We are a perfect team. Having both personally experienced some of the very extraordinary events in a persons life gives us the ability to make each job as personal as if it were our own.
