A MOTHER DAUGHTER TEAM: WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

As a mother and daughter photography team, we always work together. Our relationship has shaped our photography style into what we’re known for. Our clients are drawn to our signature style not only because of our beautiful portraits and editorial style but because of our unique approach to capturing each event’s story. Our clients know us for seizing those raw, genuine emotions, and in-between moments that otherwise go unnoticed. Over the years, we’ve found that having two photographers’ perspectives is the best way to tell a well-rounded and connected story of the day’s event.

Candid Coverage

During portraits, having two photographers enhances our ability to capture the main event, as well as candid shots of guests. With one of us taking the lead, the other is available to catch the unscripted moments of your event. We’ve found it especially efficient and effective during family portraits. For example, we split time between making sure you’re comfortable in front of the camera while the other one photographs.

Working as a team we can capture everything from all angles.

Crowd reactions during speeches, ceremonies, and special dances from the ground level and above.

Indoor photos and outdoor photos of the same moments.

Double the return on your event photography investment.

The Big Picture

The Big Picture

Both lead photographers, clients getting a huge increase in value by having two main photographers. Since we always work together, we know exactly how to supplement one another.

When you book a two-photographer team, you get more photos, a multi-dimensional visual story of the event, and peace of mind knowing that one of us is always ready for those important moments. You get two experts rather than an expert and an assistant.

LAUREN

A native New Yorker I went to school in Boston and studied graphic design and photography. Once graduating, I returned to New York where I worked as a textile designer in the garment industry and later was promoted to lead stylist for more than 12 years. I continued pursuing my passion for photography on the weekends by assisting my mother with special events where I learned a deeper understanding of working with a range of cameras, including both film & digital.

My attraction to photography gained greater focus after the birth of my first child in 1999, when I realized how much I loved being around children and capturing the spontaneous moments in each child's unique personality. In 2004 I left the garment industry to pursue my photography on a more full time basis. I continue to work with my mom but no longer as an assistant but as a colleague. Our close relationship creates a great synergy and translates into the work we do for our clients. Though my passion started with photographing children and families, I have expanded my business to include events such as weddings and Mitzvahs, custom designed albums and photo montages, and many other assorted special occasions.

I currently reside in NYC with my husband Larry, our two children, Zachary & Carli, and our dog Cooper.

I'm an event and portrait photographer and have been photographing for some 25 plus years. It all started when I needed to fulfill an art requirement, having already taken art history, I settled on black and white photography. After my first days in the dark room, I was hooked. I loved the whole process of capturing light with a camera in order to create an image.

After my college years, I started raising a family and when the time was right returned to photography. I continued my formal training at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York City. I then went on to become a member of "Ground Glass," a fine-art photography organization. My experience as a freelance photographer for a newspaper for the past 20 years has taught me how to be quick on my feet, to be unobtrusive, and how to adapt to all shooting situations. It gave me the mixture of a photojournalistic and documentary style, a style in which I work today.

I love capturing moments in people's lives that are of great importance and that bring back treasured moments. Having been fortunate enough to experience the milestones in our client's lives, we photograph each job with a personal approach as if it were our own.
